I haven't had a lot to say. Work is good. I am going to a newer bigger store that is closer to the house. My car died so I just got a brand new Honda Accord. It is a pretty black with a tan and wood interior. Ladylove got me a laptop for my birthday. All in all, life is going well. How's yours ?

Hello Gentle Readers.

I am currently quite excited in my new job. I have my own Entertainment Store to call my own (granted it is located within a much larger store, but it is still my gig.) It rocks hard! I do once again tell people what they should listen to and watch. I am traveling all across soth texas for training. I spent a week in Corpus, spent a week in San Antonio, and about to head back to Corpus. My store opens up on August 2, and there will be much in special sales. So all those in Houston that wish to go out Katy way, I'll give you the 411 for your DVD/Music/Video Game needs. (And as long as it is in print, I can order it in.)
That is about all for now. I've got laundry and packing to do.

Just a quick update as I am not usually on the computer anymore. I have been offered a job to run an Entertainment Store (CDs, Movies, Games, etc.) The only plan is "to make money." That means I can set it up how I want. In addition, Sony wants to hire me to rep Playstation. What is a clown to do. Ta for now. Still at old crappy job that doesn't like to pay me what I'm worth.

Well, I'm off today after a half day of work. Why, you ask? DarkZen is never on the computer anymore. Well, you see, my ladylove ended up breaking her foot. I rushed home to be at her side (as is my wish and right.) The new godling had left his pawns (aka toys) around and the ladylove had ended up tripping over them. She is now content high on Pharms and watching a cheeseball movie, anxiously awaiting delivered food.
On other fronts, I am totally digging my new job. They like me well enough to put me in a more responsible position, at a location closer to the house.
Other than new job, the little godling (aka dog named Sutekh) not a whole lot else. I am involved in the org. pretty heavy now. I am in my first Coordinator Position.
All in all, pretty good goins.

Time:Dec 11 9:56 am.
I can remember that first meeting so well. As a teen, my friends and I used to go to this club in Ft. Worth called Joe's Garage. It was a live venue and hosted tons of local and up and coming bands. It was a friday and there was a $8 for 8 bands cover., DRI was the headliner. The second to last band was this new local group from Patego, Texas. The singer was alright (he was replaced later), but the rhythm section was primal and the guitarist was out of his mind awesome. The name of that band was Pantera.
We then heard that the guitarist and drummer (who are brothers) worked at this Pizza Inn in Arlington. With a little luck, we located it and started making the trek from Granbury to Arlington (about 45 min each ways.) We would eat pizza (usually free) and drink beer (also free and under the table) and gab with these future metal gods, amongst others. After awhile, they hit it big and moved on as did I. But every once in awhile (every year or two) I run into either Vinnie or Darrell at some music thing when I worked in a music store, or randomly, like at this Stop and Go in Arlington. We'd chat about old times and what's new.
Last time I saw them was at the release party for Pantera's Live Album (which only conveys about a quarter of the energy of their shows.) The manager of the store I worked at went with and was almost thrown out for being too much of a music geeky fanboy. Darrell looked pretty good. He was living his dream. He was in his place. It was complete zen.
He had many monikers, Diamond, Dimebag, Scumbag, SOB, etc. But to me, he was always just Darrell. The guy who hooked up some minors with free pizza and beer. The guy who worked a shitty job so that his mom wouldn't have to worry. The guy who was generous to a fault. The guy whom I haven't seen in many years, I'd like to still call a friend. Good luck my friend.

O MY mythological being that I hold nestled in my heart next to mom's apple pie and macrame that I worship and hold dear !!!!!
He is making a post.

Yes, yes. Your friendly neighborhood DarkZen does still exist. I have been quite busy dealing with teenage angst in Da middle class ghetto. Luckily for you. No one was completely in the dark about my happenings (thanks to the wonderful ladylove for keeping these Gentle Readers appraised of the doins of DarkZen.) So I won't bore you with the trials and tribulations of running a teen angst filled video store.
I won't talk about how I rejoined some organization.
I won't talk about the past election and at the travesty it hoisted upon us. ( I mean really I can't believe who became the Texas Railroad   Commissioner. Belt buckles were hitting the floor that day.)
I won't talk of the horrid TV season aka My Big Fat Obnoxious Reason to watch old TV series on DVD (like Millenium)
I won't talk about the local/national sports team. Mostly because the tax monies alone spent on the various dot.com sponsored sports complexes would be better spent on the school and welfare sytems.

(psst, DarkZen, what else is there to talk about...I mean this IS Livejournal. If you don't talk about these things then you might as well do ANOTHER lemming.)

Well I suppose there is always that. But do people really want to know what sort of furrie I'd be?
So what else is there to talk about?

Like to Fall?.

Thursday, May 20th, 2004

Time:May 20 4:12 pm.
Mood: contemplative.

It's been awhile, true true. I've either had nothing fully formed to say, or my ladylove had already mentioned what has been going on in life. I have been ruminating on a few things and this outlet seems as good as any to let them out.

  •  Job goes well, a possible promotion may be in the works in as little as a month or so. If rumor and present courses of action persist that is.
  • Life with [info]ladyfate is wonderful as always.
  • Game progressing well, will have new news soon.
  • Need to get in on a new TT game...if someone is needing a player or is starting a new game...
  • Been thinking of many things lately... Politics, the state of the world, state of the country. I could talk of its ills and wrongs and what I think would fix them. But in the end, it doesn't really matter what I say. It is in my actions and how I live , that I can enact change in the world. It may not happen today or 10 years from now, in the end, I believe the world will come to a better place.
  • I had been asked by someone about those I no longer speak with (ie cut out of my life.) It is very simple. I had/have no time or energy to spend on those who do not treat me the same as I treat them. It is that simple. I keep an ear out to see if they change their outlook, although not likely as I hear that 'they' place blame on everything but themselves. I don't have time for that or them. Simple.
  • There are times when my heart hurts so much. I see those that I care about being abused/ridiculed/attacked by others...It hurts more when they do it to themselves. The hardest part about the latter is that nothing can be said to them that they'll hear. That is the saddest of all.
  • I have been thinking of starting a meditation group here in H-town. Kinda a time to reflect with others and try to expand spiritually/emotionally/etc. Just a night a week. Open to anyone and everyone. Everyone takes a turn in leading talks on religion, spirituality, etc. Kinda of a group connectiveness.

That has been what has been ruminating in my head lately. That and clowns.

I wish well on everyone. Finally this:

Thus we see that the all-important thing is not killing or giving life, drinking or not drinking, living in the town or the country, being lucky or unlucky, winning or losing. It is how we win, how we lose, how we live or die; finally, how we choose. We walk, and our religion is shown (even to the dullest and most insensitive person), in how we walk. Living in this world means choosing, and the way we choose to walk is infallibly and perfectly expressed in the walk itself.
—R. H. Blyth
